Intake decisions
I turn uncertain requirements into a focused scope, a useful first release, and a practical roadmap. Cut a six-step intake process down to two decisions.
Available for selected projects
I design and build software for teams with complicated work, tight feedback loops, and no patience for fragile systems.
I lead projects without stepping away from code, product decisions, or the details users notice.
I am Mira Cole, a product engineer based in Glasgow. I build software for teams managing logistics, field operations, and other work that does not fit neatly into a spreadsheet.
My projects usually begin with an untidy process and a few competing priorities. I map the real decisions, test the risky parts early, and build the smallest system that can carry the work reliably.
I have led small engineering teams, rebuilt mature interfaces, and created internal platforms that replaced scattered documents and manual handoffs. I still write code, review the details, and stay involved after release.
Away from a screen, I repair old cameras, swim, and collect transit maps.

9m to 3m
I create fast, accessible interfaces for tools people use throughout the working day. Reduced the median task time from nine minutes to three.
46 to 12
I establish shared patterns that help teams ship consistent work without slowing down. Replaced 46 one-off views with 12 reusable patterns.
2 weeks
I help small teams make sound technical choices and keep releases moving. Moved a quarterly release cycle to fortnightly delivery.
Product engineering roles across logistics, operations, and collaboration software.
2022 - Present
Northstar Studio
Led a small team building planning and reporting tools for distributed operations groups.
Reduced weekly reporting work from a full day to under an hour.
2019 - 2022
Wayline Systems
Rebuilt a logistics workspace used to plan routes, resolve exceptions, and coordinate dispatch.
Improved task completion by 31% while reducing support requests.
2017 - 2019
Common Thread
Built internal tools and customer-facing workflows for an early-stage software company.
Helped the team move from monthly releases to weekly releases.
Formal study followed by focused work in interaction design and software delivery.
2013 - 2017
Westbridge University
Studied software engineering, databases, distributed systems, and human-computer interaction.
2020
Civic Design School
A part-time program covering research, prototyping, accessibility, and service design.
A few products that show how I approach systems, interfaces, and delivery.

A shared workspace for planning field visits, assigning work, and resolving exceptions without spreadsheet handoffs.
Planning time fell by 42%, and the team handled late schedule changes without a separate handoff.
Featured work
An offline-first inspection app that helps field teams record evidence and finish reports before leaving a site.
Complete reports were submitted on the same day in 87% of visits, up from 34%.
Featured work
A small component system for dense logistics interfaces, built around keyboard use, clear status, and predictable composition.
The teams replaced 46 one-off views with 12 documented patterns over two release cycles.
